Days 1 - 2
Day 1: Arrival & Cultural Immersion at Gorilla Guardians Village
Upon arrival at the airport, you'll be met by your guide and transferred to Musanze, with a special stop at Gorilla Guardians Village for an enriching cultural experience. Here, you'll enjoy vibrant traditional dances and drumming, try your hand at archery with a bow and arrow, observe the preparation of local herbal remedies, and step inside a replica of a traditional king's palace. It’s a fun and interactive way to connect with Rwanda’s heritage before your primate adventures begin.
Overnight: Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure
After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a 7:00 AM briefing and allocation to a gorilla family group. Led by experienced trackers, you’ll begin the trek through lush rainforest terrain, sometimes steep and challenging until you come face to face with the majestic mountain gorillas. Witnessing these gentle giants up close as they go about their daily life is an awe-inspiring and emotional experience that you’ll never forget.

Days 3
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking & Return to Kigali
This morning, I set off on a guided trek in search of the charming golden monkeys that inhabit the bamboo forests at the base of Mount Sabyinyo. These energetic primates often found in groups of 50 or more are fascinating to watch as they leap from tree to tree. Photography can be tricky due to their speed and the forest lighting, so we recommend a fast shutter speed for the best shots. After your time with the monkeys, you’ll transfer back to Kigali to catch your international flight or continue your journey.
